The course will be fine for you... it is an open course and the profs all know that and teach accordingly. Also, one of the main points about the course is that it is an open course and you get to learn how other people use their varying academic backgrounds.

As of RIGHT NOW, I want to double major in CMST and CSCT, so that makes my schedule for 2nd year ONLY cmst/csct courses.

BUT I have some choices as to which courses I can take and stuff, SO, I need your opinion on these courses:

CMST 2N03/Mmedia 2F03: History of Graphic Design
CMST 2R03: Popular Music after WW2
CMST 2DD3: Media Organizations
CMST 2103: Visual Literacy
CMST 2BB3: Intro to Culture and Communication

Thanks!
2N03/2F03 - Took it, there is lots of material to memorize (need to remember authors and titles of graphical work, plus some historical stuff). Interesting material, lots of stuff on typography, I learned things in the course. The professor I had read a lot from the textbook so lectures could become a bit tedious and they were mandatory attendance and 8:30 in the morning. But that could change of course, so to critique the content, I enjoyed it.

2R03 - heard good things about it.

2DD3 - I really enjoyed this course, would recommend it

The others I haven't taken

What are your opinions on these classes?????

(Also, they're all in term 1, so would the course load be ridiculous?)
I took 2MM3 and I really didn't like it. I was hoping to focus on the actual literature of the musical and cultural movements that are explored in this but instead I was forced to read articles by dry old bats.
The good part about it was that we got to watch documentaries a lot which were much more interesting than the articles.

They merged/changed alot of the geo courses this year, so I went to the Undergraduate Calendar to check out which courses were being replaced with what. If you check out the old versions of geo/earth sci courses, you can see the course outlines then see if they're being replaced, then take the replacement class

The classes like Geo 1HS3 and 1HU3 are now under Geog and the classes like Gemstones are under Earth Science.

I'm going into Software Engineering and Game Design, and the calendar says I need a technical elective from List C, which still isn't up on the calendar as far as I can tell.

Will these Origins classes be included on that list? Or will it be all Software/Engineering related courses? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
