From what I remember a list of programs you got into comes out on your grade report at the very bottom. You will be able to select the program of your choice (out of the ones you got into, of course) when you register in June/July.
This list should come out on the last day of your final grade release after term II (i.e. May 30th).

Erm...I'm pretty sure you can be accepted to more than one. I remember that I had a choice between programs. However, I'm in Science, so it might be different for Eng since your programs are more tightly capped than ours.

if it turns out that a student didn't get into any of the level II honours science programs they applied to, will there be suggested options listed? would taking summer school courses allow for a conditional acceptance if the student is close to this year's cutoff?

I think that if you don't get into any of the options you selected you automatically end up in Life Science (I would assume non-honours, but I don't know for sure if that exists). If that's something you're worried about though, you should speak to an academic adviser in the associate dean's office (in BSB, first door on the left of the first hallway on the left if you walk in the front door). They'll be able to tell you for sure.
