SOLAR offline from 8:30-11:30am from June 17th to July 29th
UPDATE: Reports of being able to get in past midnight last night

As pointed out by Nicole, for those trying to get into SOLAR today noticed this message:

SOLAR will not be available on weekdays between 8:30am and 11:30am from June 17th to July 29th, 2008.

The reason given is that they need those three hours each day to "ensure that administrative staff can have access to the system to give personal service to students for permissions and seat authorizations".

With SOLAR not opening registration at midnight on Monday, and supposed to be open daily except from 3:00am to 3:30am Mon-Fri, we were confused at first as to when the hours truly were, but it appears that as of last night (Tuesday morning) students have reported to us that they were able to get in and register right after midnight, so consider operations back to normal.

Chad, it's actually from JUNE 17th to JULY 29th, so it's 1 month and 12 days.

Either way, McMaster really needs to fix its course selection system..

So its only opening at 800...then closing at 830...and 30 minutes is definitely not enough time to select with everyone bogging down the server. This is ridiculous! SO FRUSTRATING!

It opened at midnight last nite as I mentioned on another thread.

Yep, opened at midnight last night. I'm thikning it was just a glitch the first day which is why it didn't open at midnight.

Last night it didnt open though - and its 830 now... definitely closed. UGH WTF. it would be nice if Mac didnt piss off their student, eh?

Yeah, I was supposed to be able to get in as of today - last night, no dice - and this morning samething. Im not sure if its been open at all yet!

I have to register tonight, hopefully it's open at midnight.

Well its closed now from 8:30-10:30. You're saying you tried between 1am - 8:30 and no dice?

no dice. 11:30am was the magic time for me!

That's really screwed. Call the registrar's office.
