You usually get that message if like you tried to refresh or didn't exit the window properly.
I hope you're right Maki, I've just never seen this particular thing happen before. It crashing and being constantly full yes, but not this being unavailable altogether thing.
EDIT: You know what it might be though? Since continuing students seem to have access to it, maybe they're making it available on a rolling basis?

If worse comes to worse, e-mail your advisers and ask them to reserve a spot in the course and the particular tutorial section. You will then be able to add that course and tutorial, once you can get back on to SOLAR at a later point in time, but at least you will have a spot in the course reserved for you. That is how I had to proceed on many occasions.

Hi, Feona, maybe for the continuing ed students, but I'm an undergrad in Humanities and SOLAR should be open for me, and like I said, I've had many sleepless, frustrating nights and mornings because of this over the past 4 years, so whoever is able to get has won a lottery, no?

It seems that I can't even load the SOLAR link in MUGSI now, I just get an "Untitled" screen - perhaps a repair is undergoing?
EDIT: Nope, nevermind. Just a glitch

The flash of hope is gone! I'm seriously wondering if there's a few techno-sadists working in the IT department at Mac.....

Reminds of some show I watched where they exposed a guy who was working in a burger joint, and would like, sit on the burger buns with his bare ass.
... Or you know, simple spitting in food.

@ feonateresa - Yep, sounds like regular university behavior. Yay, bureaucracy!
@ TheMist - Well, that depends on how you define "anybody" - I think they have a few cadavers manning the course selection system from January to, oh, I'd say December.

Just awesome. Yet again Mac lets everyone down when it comes to administrative/IT tasks. It's disgraceful, really. Oh, and it goes without saying, but I can't get on either...

It's not disappointing if you weren't expecting it to work in the first place

And this is why pessimism > optimism/logical expectations of a university.
Either A) You're proven right, or B) you're pleasantly surprised; pessimism is a win-win situation, no?

It's even more aggravating when you've attended another university and seen them handle such issues so well time and time again, yet Mac fails repeatedly. I just don't get it.
