Some insight on occupational therapy program at McMaster? (MASTERS DEGREE)
How hard is the program?
What GPA do you need to get into the program?

Is the program in itself difficult to complete?

I have heard many mixed reviews of OT programs across Canada. I am hoping someone can give me some outlook on this program?

This is mostly an undergraduate forum, so I'm not too sure anyone would be able to answer your questions about the difficulty of the program. It'd probably be best to maybe check out the forums at premed101.com or something. In terms of GPA, you need a minimum of 3.0 to apply, but the avg of those admitted last year was 3.48.

I've worked with Mac grads from the OT program and OT Students from Mac. Here's what I can gather:

The program itself has a lot of reflection, and lots of field placements, be prepared to do your placement outside of the Hamilton area. The current OT student at my job did a placement in Thunder Bay.

You will need a high GPA to get an interview, it is very competitive.

The students and staff I've talked to have all enjoyed the program.
