Student Center, Salespeople
Maybe I've been at McMaster too long- emphasizing things that were just a part of our great school's charms. I doubt it though.
Over the past month or so, I've basically been unable to make it from the Mills enterance out to the Quad without being harassed. The BMO people are probably the worst. I have a feeling these people leave McMaster at night to canvass the neighbourhood as Jehovah's witnesses. When I'm trying to go grab lunch at an institution I pay $6000/year to occupy space in, you sure as **** better not try to sell me shit when I'm eating.
Now I'm seeing more vendors pull this shit, and student clubs too.
At this point, that little space infront of compass feels like the games section at Wonderland. Whatever you do- don't make eye contact.

You can make eye contact, but only as long as you're profusely licking your lips and touching yourself while doing so. Salespeople will never bother you, I guarantee it.

They can't sell you anything if you don't acknowledge their existence.

If you do need to walk by them, just talk to your friend, or pretend to talk/text on your phone, or actually talk/text

Umm..there is no need to do that. I look at them straight in the eye, and while they're trying to talk to me, I walk by. Simple.

God, I hate harassers.
I usually avoid the area where the BMO people stand by simply using the ramp thing at the side it doesn't really help me bypass the people by Mills, but it's still decent at avoiding BMO harassment.
If I wanted to change banks, or get a credit card or something, I would go to you. You don't gotta chase me, while I'm trying to get to class on time...

I like how they have no social skills whatsoever.
I have the decency to look them in the eye, smile, and say "no thank you" EVERY time while they stare at me blankly and continue to forcibly shove paper into my hands.
Like I was holding my jacket and my pop and she was actually touching the paper to my hands.
Must be hard to see that my hands are full.

Honestly, whenever the BMO people approach me, if I have time I stop and ask them:
"Your bank has so much time and money to hire people like you, to sell me your business, and yet, with all this happening, BMO still fails to have an ABM at McMaster."
And they have nothing to say!

One time the BMO people tried to stop me by saying "Look, an SPC card, it's free". I seriously wanted to just snatch it from their hands and keep walking... they did say it was free...

It technically is free though... In fact if you take the cashback option they are technically paying you unless getting a credit card forces you to buy things you didn't want before you got one.
