Summer School Fees
I dropped one of my electives this semester. Affording it would be tough. Since it was dropped, can I take it in the summer for free? Maybe? Please?

Unfortunately you'll have to pay for summer courses. Though it might be possible to get a loan. I'm not sure whether OSAP offers loans for the summer but if that doesn't work, you can try the bank.

Does the following list include all the summer courses offered by the listed universities? If not, I'm assuming we have to look them up at their respective websites? http://www.science.mcmaster. ca/~as...lop2/equiv.phpList of Preapproved Equivalent Courses

Yeah, I believe there are more courses but you would have to either contact the university or look for it somewhere on their website.

The link atttached above should be a full list of preapproved courses, but there may be other course equivalents. When in doubt, double check with the Faculty/Department/schools of interest.

Does anybody know when the summer school fees are due? and also, if I were to drop the course early in the term, would I get my money back? Thanks!

According to the payment agreement, the payment is due May 1st.
According to the Student Accounts website:
Term 1 -- no charge if cancellation is on or before May 8
Term 2 -- no charge if cancellation is on or before June 26
"If you cancel a course, your initial fees will be reversed." ( http://www.mcmaster.ca/bms/student/p...ellat ion.pdf)
I think that means that you do get refunded provided the deadlines are observed...feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Those are the drop/add dates from what I recall, so I believe you are correct nh999.

For summer OSAP info, there's a pdf file called 'OSAP summer addendum' at http://sfas.mcmaster.ca/. You need to fill it out and have it in at least 30 days before the end of the first or second summer term, depending on which term your classes were in.

Well the deadline to add courses is actually May 8th, so that gives you a minimum 3 day frame. According to Student Accounts, courses added after May 2nd are "due upon registration", so I suppose you won't get charged late fees until after May 8th.

Hey solonavi. Thanks for the info, just had a quick question (it's probably stupid but I couldn't seem to find the answer.. I blame no sleep and exams) - do we hand in the addendum at SFAS? (Gah, it sounds obvious, but I just wanted to make sure). Thanks!

I'm pretty sure you do hand in the addendum to SFAS, considering the header of the form lists its address.
