Summer School Parking
Hey what do you guys recommend for summer school parking?
I usually park in lot M but class isn't till 7 and the shuttle stops running by then so it's a bit of a walk at 10.

Where is your class located? I think Lot K is a good idea, it's right outside ABB. I'm not sure if your transponder will work there though... but it all depends on your class location.

If you only have classes in the evening, buy an evening permit for the spring/summer. It's valid on weekdays from 4:00 PM to 7:30 AM the next day, and all day on weekends.

The permit costs only $43.00/month, the same price as a daily Lot M pass, but allows you to CHOOSE whichever lot you want each time you go to campus (eg. during the evening/weekend time periods, your transponder will open ANY gated lot on campus). And this includes any Central Campus lot.

Good luck, I know the parking system's a bit of a hassle. Let me know if you have any more questions about Mac's parking!

Since all my classes are in the evening (6pm) year-round, I had an Evening transponder this year. With this, you are allowed to park on main campus after 4PM Monday-Thursday, and 3:15PM on Friday. You can also park on Weekends.

Parking in Lot I is pretty sweet if you have classes in ETB or JHE. With the $43/month evening pass, you CANNOT, however, park in the west lots during the day (until 4PM or etc).

That said, it only makes sense to have a transponder if you will be there for multiple days. If you're there once a week, pay $5 flat rate on main campus after 4PM and that would work out to $20-25 a month. If more than twice or on weekends, then pay for the transponder.
