Swimming
Hi Everyone!

I really hope someone can help me. I love swimming and would love even more to be able to be on the Mac swim team. Here is where the problem is-I have been on competitive swimming teams in the past so I know the sport well but it has been a few years since I competed so i am no longer in my best swimming shape. I am wondering if there is a way for me to be a part of the team so that I can train with them until I am in the appropriate form to compete or if there is some program I can join in order to train for this purpose. I would love so much to be on the team, I am good at the sport I just need to be back in the nest shape!

Thank you so much for your help!
Katelyn

Try the Masters swimming, three times a week, workouts led my a Mac swim coach assistant. Youll find the registration details in the athletics and rec guide in sept.

I have a side question: on the swimming schedule it says...Shallow end lengths, deep end lengths, long course lengths, leisure... what do they all mean? when is the time when I can just go to swimming pool and just chill? Teach myself how to swim and shit.
PS: some days the set-up has several of them together. Also how crowded is the swimming pool usually?

Thank you

As for the Masters swimming, is that like Hamilton's swim club? would there be a lot of university aged people or just younger people?

I think you'd want to go to the leisure area. "Lengths" refer to laps, don't they? Doesn't sound like chillin' to me, haha

The old men are probably showing that they still have something to be proud of. Or, that it's not completely shrivled, at least.

I am on the Varsity swim team we have try outs during welcome week at some point.
I would recommend trying out, if you don't make the top 18 (18 guys and 18 girls make up the competitive team ) our coach still allows a few people to train with us if he thinks they have potential.

you can contact our coach here

good luck!

Isn't there a junior varsity team for people who aren't fast enough to make varsity?
