Taking less courses in first year...
So I'm taking 4 courses this semester right now and my original plan was to take 5 next semester and then 1 in the summer. My question is that do most grad schools require 10 courses in the regular year or is 9 ok....I'm unsure if I should take 6 courses in second semester so that I don't close the door for grad schools...

Depends on the program/school, you should check with the ones you plan on applying to.

Yup. Sometimes you need to have a full course load :S. But it really depends.
