Taking first year courses
Hey guys,
I知 in second year, and I致e decided to change my major to economics. As a result, I値l be taking a few first year courses. So does it feel awkward/weird being in first year classes when you池e actually in second year? I知 just curious because I知 kind of feeling nervous about it.
Thanks in advance,
John

I'm also taken a first year course this year. I don't think it'll be too bad. The classes are big. I've had upper years in my bio classes and it didn't feel strange or awkward for me. They probably feel the same way. We are all here for an education and age doesn't have a thing to do with that. There are first years who are older (in their 20s) and some that are younger (17).
I don't think the class setting should be awkward if you are a different age or year.

It's only really awkward once you get into third and fourth year...because the prof/TA will be repeating the things you've been hearing for a few years now in terms of expectations.

A lot of upper years take first year courses. Don't sweat it.

It better not be awkward agewise, or I'm screwed for the next 4 years.

I've had a prof who yelled at my class for being immature about some of the content being presented...so who's to say...

I'd say more annoying, boring etc.
I have to take two first year courses this year to fulfill my degree requirements (I added a major and a course I needed wasn't offered so I needed to do a switcheroo). Bah.

Yeahh, I'm taking like three first year courses this year because they're required to get into a program that I didn't know I wanted to do in the beginning. I honestly think it'll be fine, I met a lot of upper years when I was in my first year classes so it's chill.

I couldn't imagine how weird it'd be... it's not like there's a 30 year gap between you and other people. Imagine how the mature students feel being in a room full of young'uns.
Besides, I've talked to a few people who were 3rd/4th year in my 1st year classes. Personally, don't you think it's a little less "worse" being back in 1st year classes because you want to switch majors as opposed to being in 1st year classes just because you want to improve your gpa? It's not like you're doing it for shits and giggles.
