Taking A Summer Course At Another University?
I'm currently in first year health sci. I am planning on taking a course (such as second year chem) over the summer at York university (since its in toronto which is where i live.)
Is this possible? If so, what prcocess do I have to go through?

thanks,

I assume that you want to use this course towards your degree. If this is the case then you will first have to get the course approved for equivalency to another course at McMaster (in this case to Chem) unless it has already been done (there is a list somewhere). You then have to get a letter of permission from the associate dean's office. Finally you have to follow York U's steps to taking a course at their institution (you can probably find it on their website).

Heres the list showing which classes at other universities can be transferred:
http://www.science.mcmaster. ca/ass...lop2/equiv.php

In order for the credit to transfer you have to get atleast a 6.. also it will only say pass or fail on your transcript (no actual grade, so it cant be used for your average)

Those are the ones that are confirmed. Any other course not on the list would be assessed individually. If you have a specific course in mind, only your associate dean's office can answer this question.

Hope this thread is still alive, I had another question. Do you guys know that if a course that a professional/grad school would need, such as organic chem is taken at another university, is there any detriment? Other than the marks not counting towards the average, does the credit still count and so forth?
