Didn't I warn that a re-naming could completely negate the much more needed work of developing a viable business & marketing plan? To be fair, I thought it would just turn into a waste of time about names... the Big Bang vs HIMYM debacle it has become is still a waste, but at least it's interesting.

I was just wondering. Because people are more likely to choose one on the list and vote. It's going to be much more difficult for a custom vote to win.

I voted for Quarters anyways.

Nah, I don't think so. Those names were pretty horrendous. I think most people will either a) come up with something even more incredibly stupid or b) just pick Quarters like both you and I did.

Yes, it clearly is taking the time of the people who are going to be making up the business & marketing plans... the 5 people who are browsing this topic on Macinsiders...

I don't give a flying walrus what quarters gets renamed too because everytime I go in there I have to wait 20 minutes until some waitress realizes that we're there, it takes forever get our drinks nevermind our food, and they never bring you your cheque. The food is greasy and disguisting and the entire vicinity smells bad. It's no wonder that quarters is bringing down the whole university. I say shut it down, and use that space for something productive.

Thank you for your valid and so eloquently worded input. Perhaps next time some constructive criticism could be used in place of belligerent ranting.

I Think Quarters Should Be Called..."Liqour Box". It's a simple and classic name which really embodies everything 'quarters' is all about.

This is a good first step in obtaining student opinion, but has anyone made an attempt to conduct proper market research? To be honest I think the only way to do this is to troll the Student Centre, create surveys and get it out to as many people as possible.

By doing this we might also find out something we have not already been looking into. This research would cost virtually nothing and it seems so simple.

Kudos to you Matt though for being the leading force behind obtaining student opinion.

No, that's okay. There's already enough annoying shit going on in the student center every day.

Aaand I have a feeling it's not allowed...MUSC Admin has some pretty serious rules.

I don't see why they wouldn't. If students are allowed to campaign I don't see why students can't go around handing out surveys.

Students cannot hand out unsolicited materials in MUSC during election times.

However, that does not stop anyone from getting approval to set up a booth to assess student opinions on the issue.

But there is often the issue of booths being full.

Apparently they book up quite quickly.
