Yes. I am certain that you will have the lab/tutorial alternate so that you will be able to attend both.

That's exactly what happened to me in first year.

Also do you think i can make these classes in time: I have 2 core classes and one tutorial from 11.30-14.20

They go like this
CNH 104 -11.30-12.20
MDCL 1305- 12.30-13.20
KTH B101- 133.30-14.20

Yeah, you can make them. 10 minutes is a lot of time. CNH and KTH are in very similar locations and MDCL is about a 5 minute walk from both of them.

Yeah you could pretty easily make it to class on time.

CNH, KTH, and TSH are very close together in the Arts Quad (next to the Student Centre) and close to the North Quad residences. MDCL is slightly farther away but still pretty close to the Arts Quad. You'll be able to find shortcuts once you get a little more used to the campus.

Oh yeah. It's just a straight walk West. 5 minutes will be enough time to get there. Don't worry about times. Even the furthest walk from IWC to ITB is possible.

It looks like a have a lab and core overlapping:
BIOLOGY 1A03 T37
LS B130E
08:30 - 09:20

and

BIOLOGY 1A03 L37
BSB 213
08:30 - 11:20

but they both say EOW... how will i know if they happen to be the same weeks? ... how do we know which week for any of the EOW?

They occur every other week. So one week on Thursday at 8:30-11:20 you will have a lab in BSB213. Then the next week you will have a tutorial on Thursday at 8:30-9:20 in LS b130E. Then the next week after that you will do the lab again and so on. It switches every week. During your first class, they will let you know when your first lab or tutorial is. Half the class has the tutorial one week, while the other half does the lab that week. There are NO labs or tutorials during your first week of school. They will tell you that on your first day in class. Usually they start a month into school after you have completed the WHMIS stuff.

There shouldn't be any labs or tutorials the first week, definetly not on the first Thursday or Friday anyway. Probably not the second week either, they will let you know when. For first year science classes, there aren't any labs for sure for the first month or so until you finish all your required WHMIS and training courses. Do not leave them until the last minute because that's when they are packed and super busy! Get the training labs out of the way quickly, they're extremely easy and super boring.

Hey everyone.

I am a first year engineering student and when I checked my schedule this morning I found that I have a conflict in my second term.

The conflict is between these two courses which share a similar time:

ENGINEER 1C03 C05
MATH 1ZZ5 C01

I just wanted to double check how I fix the conflict. Do I just change one of the cores to another with a time that will resolve the conflict (example, ENGINEER 1C03 C05 to ENGINEER 1C03 C07)? I know SOLAR doesn't re-open until Monday, so I just wanted to ask in advance so I'm ready for the possible rush =P.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes. On SOLAR just pull down the drop down menu for CORE for that course and check which are available. As long as switching into a different core doesn't make a conflict with another course, you should be fine. The only issue would be if the core section you want is full. If there's no other way to solve the conflict, you can ask your professor or whoever is in charge when school starts to switch you. They always will switch you into a different section if you have a conflict and can't solve it.

In response to the walking between classes questions, I just want to comment that though it is 'possible' to make it between far-spaced buildings, it kind of gets tiring to run/speed walk between class, especially if you are short. For example, I know for a fact that it would be difficult for me to have to make it between IWC and ITB in 10 minutes.

But we are lucky as Mac students to have a smaller campus than larger universities like U of T. And sometimes profs don't start right on time either, so it may be okay to miss the first few minutes of class.

lol i had a similar problem and i know the solution

APPARANTLY, we had to agree with the payment agreement by the 30th of July..but see we didnt do that..in fact i just agreed to it and paid yesterday

I think its best if you do pay a bit earlier(todays not a bad day to do it) so you can get your hands on your timetable by monday. (i think)

that might remove from stress for ppl here, i almost had a heart attack
