It is NOT a 45% increase in price. Currently we pay 140% of one adult monthly bus pass, this brings it up to 145% of one adult monthly bus pass - only a 5% increase from what you've paid in the past.

It's not a 45% increase in price. The poll states that it is 145% of a monthly bus pass. Since we already pay more than a monthly bus pass, the increase is much less than 45%. It works out to be an increase of $4.35, which is approximately a 3.5% increase.

To note, it is NOT a 45% increase. We currently pay 140% of one adult monthly bus pass, and that would be going up to 145% of one adult monthly bus pass, meaning a 5% increase.

I live far like 1:30 hour walking, takes me 40 min for 2 buses. Not far, I could do that 1:30 hour walk, but it's better taking bus, less time.

And in the morning, when the bus is already full, they still decide to take it, dumbasses.
If you're forcing the entire student population to pay for something a limited portion of people need, then don't whine about how the overused service is. Any student who pays for it (even if they are forced to) has the exact same right to take the bus as someone like you who lives far away.

If you want to fix the issue then just vote no so that the HSR bus pass is not mandatory. Then, everyone who lives within a 15 min walk will stop taking the bus and you won't have to worry about not getting a ride.

I really think they should have worded it different. It makes it sound very expensive before you read it again, they should have just put the price down so people don't vote no because their all like OMG 145% of a monthly pass???? :fr antic:

145$ of a monthly pass is EXACTLY what it sounds like... I worry for our future if that's confusing to people.

The problem with putting the price, is if the adult monthly bus pass goes up, so does ours, so it may not be $126.15 for the whole 3 years. The only way to accurately represent it is 145% of one monthly bus pass, since it is connected to the adult pass.

Are we really worried about University students being confused by the wording of the question?

Sad.

There shouldn't be a vote for bus passes there should be a vote to remove HSR bus passes from everyone who lives like 5-10 min away from campus.

Then there should be a vote to remove HSR bus passes from people that have their own car.

Or people that use GoBus.

Or people that fly here in their own helicopter.

Or people that just plain fly here.

Cliu91, eullwm, justinsftw like this.
