To be honest, if a girl randomly punched me, I'd punch her back; I don't care if she's a girl. If she was drunk or high or something, then maybe not, because she does not have full control of herself; but otherwise, yeah, I'd hit her back. Only as a form of defence. I'd never punch a girl to start a fight.
Same goes for guys, really...or anyone...unless it's an elderly person; I'll just tell them they're going to hell in a few years. Ba ha ha ha ha...

I'm all for gender equality but I certainly wouldn't hit a girl. Maybe if she was huge and could take it but never in anger or in response to physical provocation. I wouldn't hit anyone in that context.

I don't think I would hit someone- unless extremelyyyyyyyyy provoked or extremellllllllllyyyy yyy drunk 
i just think it depends on your personality as well- it is my thinking that hitting someone else will never diffuse the situation and it tends to just give the other person some ...idk justification for hitting you (justification isnt really the word im looking for here but idk how to phrase it) .. like, they hit me back so it was gonna be a fight anyways but i just threw the first punch sort of thing...
its funny because actually last year, a guy at a party (whom i didnt really know), came up to me, said a couple things and then slapped me in the face HARD, as a joke. He realized after that his joke was wrong (in the setup leading to the slap), and I guess he realized he slapped a girl and had hurt me and offered me a free slap back- but I woulnt do it (even slightly tipsy)- I just don't think im the type of person to engage in physical violence until severrrrrrely provoked |

I guess this is where I take a somewhat hypocritical stance b/c I would never ever ever ever ever ever hit an old person, I was raised by my grandparents and I have a lot of respect for old people. If an old person hit me I would probably feel sorry for them and assume that they are losing it. |

My tough self would hit her back if she's sober, I wouldn't if she was drunk. My real self would probably go, "WTF? -glare while holding eye-" Followed by some muttered swearing and name calling. -leaves-

Nah, I wouldn't hit the girl, drunk or sober. I'd probably grab her by the arm/wrist and call/cuss her ass out hard. Try to stay calm and controlled and just give her a "talk", show that you're a real man.
