To OP: You're a noob, go play Multiplayer. That's what COD is for.
For SP, wait for Black Ops because it's going to be best FPS game of all time.

If we are talking purely about campaign, then BFBC2 just sucks. Its so bland and unoriginal. At least with MW and MW2 it felt like a James Bond Movie, where you try and save the world from Nukes :/
But in terms of multiplayer, honestly BC2 beats all of them.
1. You don't die as fast or as often (at least for me)
2. I absolutely love the Frostbite engine and how essentially everything can be destroyed over the course of the match. It actually feels like your in a real battle - The explosions effect the terrain, they can destroy buildings and your cover. You actually have to think about where you want to hide in cover, and pay attention to your surroundings if you don't want to die all the time.
3. Vehicles. I love them.
4. Rush Mode. Probably my favourite multi player mode ever. I love it when slayer variants have an objective in them as well. Actually makes me feel like I'm accomplishing something in lieu of just randomly killing people.
5. Map Design. The people over at DICE did an amazing job designing some of these maps. They are able to make you feel you're playing a huge match with like 64 people total, but in reality its only 24 in each game. They are also incredibly huge, and beautiful to look at.
6. I love the fact that the game is completely random in a sense, but in a good way.
7. Sniping is more fun, and challenging at longer distances because gravity affects the bullet over long distances. Really gratifying when you get a long range kill head shot
Honestly, there are more reasons why I love BC2, but I'd just be going on and on. I just think that its a well balanced game, unlike MW2 and the nuke, etc.

ahahahahaahah.
We'll just have to wait and see. Considering Treyarch's history with making video games, I doubt it.

What does IGN mean (not IGN the game site, right?)?
If you're talking about playing on the computer, I can't. My computer is too old to run it, and I don't own a PC copy of the game :/
I play on the console version. Its still fun but limited in comparison to the PC version...

No matter what, whenever something becomes incredibly popular you will have critics that don't understand the hype. I can say that the Call of Duty franchise peaked at COD 4, but Treyarch worked VERY hard on Black Ops and i can say that i found it more than enjoyable. To be honest though, if you don't like the COD games then stop buying/playing them.
It's obvious that the COD franchise sticks to a certain formula, i mean, wouldn't you considering their success? I agree there are some annoyances in game, but it still doesn't detract that COD is the smoothest, most fast-paced, and competitive game on the FPS market right now.
Sorry, but i just plain don't see why you hate it so much.

Sorry, but CS 1.6 and CS Source and Team Fortress 2 are still at the head of the competitive FPS market.
Starcraft 1/2 being at the head of the RTS market.
CoD is the head of the fanboy market.

Simply put, more players = more competition. Now this isn't to say that 1.6 or Source don't have their place in competitive gaming, but their time peaked somewhere around 2006, let me stress that MLG is the ONLY lucrative gaming league at the moment, and leagues like CGS and CPL have gone bankrupt.
The one reason i mention this is because the one thing dividing MLG from these other leagues is their emphasis on console gaming, and WoW, but that ties in with my "competition in numbers" point.
Also, how could COD possibly be the head of the fanboy market when it's multi-platform?
I understand that you don't like that game, but like i said, there are alternatives for you to play without you making a broad claim that COD is a bad series of games, which it isn't.

I think ken was arguing that CoD just isn't that great of a competitive game. If we're talking numbers WoW and Starcraft are still the most lucrative and large (the most successful professional gamer in the world makes over $300,000 a year playing SC competitively). I'm pretty sure ken was arguing more about the quality of the game in competition, and in that case he's right. Quake, CS, Team Fortress, and UT are all much smoother, faster, more balanced, and generally stronger competitive FPS games than CoD. Even on consoles, I'd consider Socom 2 and the Halo games to be better competitive games than CoD4 and on.
CoD is popular (and, thus, played at competitions) because it's fun and relatively easy, not because it's an amazing competitive game.

Frankly, i think that all of that is personal opinion, the "quality" of the game that your talking about is pretty ambiguous, seeing as how you simply named 4 PC games and then Halo.
I guess the question i'm really asking here is what separates COD from being a good competitive game like all the others that you have listed. I've played every single one of them, and i can say they are all vastly different and have different playstyles allotted to them, but i'd never say one was more competitive than another.
