While I think it's awesome that Mac Sci can release these dates early... looking at that schedule makes me happy I wasn't in Science in first year. That is one strenuous year.

I'm pretty sure that there's so few of you guys that you could argue your own test schedule if you wanted :p.

A ban on midterms/assignments prior to the start of exams.
I've seen this disregarded at least once.

the exam ban means no tests are allowed to take place after that date until the actual exam

Ya, I remember seeing a post on here where someone in electrical or computer engineering was complaining about having gotten a 10% assignment during the ban. Apparently there isn't much you can do about it :|

The test ban only applies to tests or assignments weighted more than a certain percentage. I believe it may be in the 20-25% range. It usually doesn't start until a week before finals, so it's still possible that you can have tests pretty close to the end. Especially in first year science where you're having usually 2 midterms per course, and the faculty does their best not to put them on the same day.

If it happens that you get a midterm/big assignment during the test ban, and you're not sure if there's anything you can do about, feel free to let me know and I'll look into it for you.

If I have to, I can go as far as contacting higher-ups in administration to figure out exactly what's going on there.
