I know that during the last world cup you could stream the soccer games online. Not sure if you can stream smaller soccer games, but you should probably search for it.

Like it's been mentioned there is TVs with cable in every common room. I lived in Hedden last year and each floor has 2 common rooms x 5 floors which = 10 TVs with cable in your building.

I can't see there being a mad rush for the television on Saturday mornings either.

My suggestion would be get a cheap universal remote and bring it. The remotes seemed to get broken and go missing a lot. I got a universal one and could watch TV whenever I want even when the remote was gone or wasn't working.

Yes there is usually cable connection in all the residence room. Exceptions to this I believe are Bates, Keyes and Les Prince. They do not have cable connection in individual rooms. I lived in Whidden last year and live in Moulton this year...and I had\have cable for both. Currently my Moulton cable has not been turned on yet, but I have someone scheduled to come on Monday (15th) to turn it on. You have to call Cogeco if you want them to turn it on....then it's almost impossible finding a good time for them to come when they are available and when u don't have class. It's around $30 a month...plus a $30 installation fee the first month.

This price is for the basic cable package.

Well, it can be possible, but it's unlikely, and you won't know until you try. What sometimes happens is that someone who lived in your room in a previous year may have ordered cable from Cogeco (and paid for it), but after they moved out the company never disconnected it. It's rare, and I don't know if they fixed that little loophole yet, but in my first and second year in Hedden there definitely were people on my floor who didn't order cable but had live cable jacks in their rooms. I guess you just have to give it a shot, but again, the odds are against you - it's just a nice bonus if it happens to work. Maybe you can borrow a TV from someone in your building to try it before bringing your own?

so I live in Bates and I was rearranging the furniture in my room when I discovered a cable! yay! So, I think I'm gunna set it up because I dont really use the TV in our living room much and I'd like to have it in my room, so I was wondering, do i have to call Cogeco? Or can I like use a different provider? (Ie: rogers) thanks!

Well I think Cogeco is cheaper than Rogers so I would go with Cogeco. That's what I have.

Rogers is not a provider in Hamilton, I know for sure that they don't do internet and phone cause I tried to set up with them when I moved into my house but they MAY do cable. Call and check if you really want Rogers

I'm pretty sure Rogers and Cogeco have a deal worked out where only one of them is offered in any specific area. That way, they don't compete with each other - only with satellite.
