I emailed them a while back.. about 2 weeks.. and they said the date is very firm - I was planning to take a summer course to boost my average. But they said they don't accept upgrades in the summer prior to admission.. ie summer '09. And the deadline is June 30th.

Your best bet would be to contact the school and speak to someone who deals with admissions. They would be able to speak to you directly about your case as well.

Yep. Contact the Registrar's office.. or even call the main number for mcmaster, and the operator would transfer you .. That's what i did anyway.

Oh myy only 1%?! I think it all depends on the numbers. Since engineering is quite in demand.. Depending on how many people reject the offers that they sent out, they register people. But they would send out more offers from the higher percentages and go down. So in reality, the chance of him getting an offer would be quite low :(. These cutoff seem to be really strict in a sense.

That's really sad. But any university obviously picks the highest marks just to talk proudly about how high their admission averages are.. Too bad for the people in such situations :(

It really is a shame that they don't budge on conditional offers. :(

I know! :( Really horrible that people would have everything set, and then the offer would get taken back from them :( especially if they paid the residence deposit.
