SOLAR opens at midnight...and then you can go on. And hopefully not the same time as everyone else so the server doesnt get too busy

do the first year students MUST make an appointment with the academic counsellor to make the timetable? or can we just make it ourselves using SOLAR?

No, it isn't mandatory. If it was, there would need to be waaaay more advisors than are on staff on any given faculty at present.

what does it mean by level 4 and 5 business, social science etc.
I'm entering my first year in the Social Sciences so does that mean I'm Friday July 4th or... and also is it only on that day that I get to register like there is no other chance?

level is the year you are in. your are in first year therefore level one.

the date is when you can start picking classes. from that day you have an essentially unlimited timeframe (with the exception of a week after you have started picking your classes, and the week when no one can access solar) to pick your classes, until the second week of september.

Man that sucks for us in Social Science? So if everyone in every other faculty wants political science as an elective, does that mean I might not get it... even if that's what I want my major to be? Basically what I'm asking is will course availability be limited because I have to pick last?

And where does Medical Radiation Science fit into that schedule... is it considered Faculty of Science or Faculty of Health Sciences?

for first year courses the maximum number of students is high, and they usually offer more than one section (ie the course if offered more than once a term (or in poli sci's case for both terms), so not being allowed in doesn' t happen too often.

if it does you go to the departmental office and say you want to major in that course to they make room for you.

i have nooo idea about med rad. i'm going to guess health sci, but my odds are only 50-50
