Yes I would love to explain. I was looking to see if anyone had the following connection for a possibility as to why people are shy: not being shy creates friends. Now re-read the quote. Let me know if you still don't see it.

People have friends for different reasons.

I hope people aren't putting shy guys and quiet guys in the same category. You don't always have to be shy because you are quiet.
