Econ 1BB3
Econ 1BB3 is all about Macroeconomics, unlike Econ 1B03, which is about Microeconomics. It is recommended that you take 1B03 first then 1BB3, but people did the opposite anyways.
Macroeconomics, according to Dictionary.com is: The branch of economics dealing with...

The first midterm was easy, as long as you review your notes your good for it, the second mid term, I am not sure because it was canceled due to the strike, but I heard its alot harder and requires alot more preperation.
Exam wasen't bad at all though.

I'm assuming the 2nd test isn't worth 15% and the 1st worth 25% anymore?

Econ 1BB3 is a course introducing you to macroeconomics. I found 1BB3 to be slightly harder than 1B03 (more content, and some concepts were harder to grasp), but I definitely found this course to be much more interesting than 1B03.
O'Shaughnessy is a good prof. She's clear in her explanations of concepts, and she has podcasts available which summarizes her 50-minutes lectures into 10-20 minutes (which explains why I didn't go to class all semester ; tip: use VLC, and increase the speed of her podcast from 1X to ~1.3X -> it's great when you need to cram haha).
First midterm was a joke. Basically, it's very similar to the midterm found for 1B03, but with some short answers questions. Second midterm was a bit more difficult, but nothing too strenuous. Final exam was fair, and since it was cumulative, covered a crapload of material; composed of both MCs and short answers.
Overall, a relatively easy course to do well in. Keep up with the podcasts, make notes, study, and you should be just fine.

Economics if your school offers it, but really these economics classes are so basic you don't need any previous knowledge.

Uploaded are assignment answers from Aplia (although, beware that some questions are worded differently i.e. different numbers), and practice tests. Assignments were taken from Fall 2009 (O'Shaughnessy).

Easy math. Easy easy math.
I think most kids get perfect marks on the math test, the most advanced stuff was solving linear equations that have two variables (ie Grade 10 stuff) and most of it was just graphing. But that was only on the test, and never came up again.
In terms of math that came up in the course, it was never really more advanced than basic algebra

Fawkes, both 1B03 and 1BB3 are roughly the same, it really depends which course you find easier and which one you find harder and will have to spend more time on.
When I took them, both courses had online assignments, but given that you stay on top of things, shouldn't be too much of a hassle.

Hey guys. I have a quick question. Do you recommend to take 1BB3 in first term and 1B03 second term, or the other way around?
Thanks!
