Frosh Week!
Okay so I'm not a drinker and I was wondering if there would be any point in me purchasing a MacPass?
What events can you not attend if you don't have a MacPass?

The only things I'm really interested in is the Football game, Clubfest, and that big picture taking thing they're doing on the first day?

Thankss x

That's the thing I don't wanna spend $100 knowing that I won't even attend the nightly socials and stuff because that's not my kinda scene lol.
But on the otherhand I want to come so I can meet other people in my faculty :(

T'is a dilemma.

it doesnt matter whether you drink or you don't drink we welcome you with open arms!
wweek is not about the drinking its about having fun and meeting loads of great new people!!

there's definitely nothing to be afraid of...you will have a blast!

people will tell you it's not worth it and/or it's a waste of money but it all comes down to you you you!

i know my first year i had someone pass away so i couldn't be there for most of it ... but since then i've been involved with welcome week regardless to make up for it even though i never will

so dont miss out
you only get one chance to be a first year!

Noo I definitely want to come to WelcomeWeek, but is it worth me buying a MacPass?
Like I can just buy individual tickets for the football game right?

Alright alright, I'll buy one.

but this question is for my friend, who is insisting on not buying one.
Can she still come and do the Faculty activities with me? She's in Humanities as well

Yes, it is definitely worth it!!

I don't drink either, and last year I attended most (95% +) of the events. They are mostly not geared around drinking.

For example, I think it was the Monday there was a dance at 1280, or you could take dancing lessons in the student centre (they had like bollywood, salsa, etc.--- tons of fun!) so there is options for everyone even if you don't like the party scene.

Faculty day requires a macpass, you get a faculty t-shirt with it so it wouldn't be hard to spot people that didn't buy a macpass. Unless they run out of t-shirts :\

Not all of them, such as your faculty day/night.

The macpasses fund WW btw, so also a really good reason to get one. Supports the whole thing, yknow?

More money, better events and swag XD But I think that buying it at this point doesn't actually change anything for welcome week. I'm sure everyone has already gotten their budget and is planning on what to do/get for welcome week this month.

Iunno, but I feel like for what it's worth, you should get her to pick up a MacPass on the offchance she changes her mind about those events. Most people make new friends in university, but you guys are lucky since you already have someone to hang around with all week (as well as still meeting new people). It would kinda suck if you decided to go to something and she couldn't, or if you chose to not go to something because she couldn't.

There is no (Mac-sponsored) drinking at any of the frosh events since 99% of freshmen are underage. I thought the Macpass was worth it.
