That's not the reason why I can't take it though... I can't take it because I have to take so many other courses >.<

If a course has been known to have their exams really late in the exam periods, is it most likely that will be the same next year? I have heard geo courses are always really late at exam time?

Hey Guys, I had a quick question, the first year french course I'm trying to get in is still full. I e-mailed the french department and humanities as well. With no luck.. Who exactly do I contact.. neither department replied to me and it's been more than a week =S

I think the exam schedule of the previous year has no bearing on future years. I think generally it's not the faculty, but the year of the course that determines it's placement. I know that generally upper years finish before first years, at least that's how it worked for me.

Do you live near Mac? You could go in person and talk to the faculty representative or someone who can assist you. That way they can't evade you like they apparently did to your email.

Well Toronto.. So I guess it's not too bad. Would I go to the registrar's office.. or the faculty. I know! I expected they would at least answer my second e-mail..>.< :( Thanks Greg

I don't think the registrar would have any way to help you out, you'd be best going directly to the faculty. I know how annoying it is to not get a reply, they never ever call me back when I leave a message. Good luck!

The next best thing would be to call them and follow up with your email
905-525-9140. ext. 24470 I believe
OR..
Bon soir,
Je m'appelle Sara ________. Je veux parler Francais dans la classe, (cue English Accent) "French 1Z06". Au revoir.
Edit: Or go see them in person. I don't like Greg after 12. He's like a Superdrive instead of just a regular old CD drive.

Good idea! Using French will show them that you are serious!
Edit: Not sure if it's a good idea for Beginner French though... they may bump you up a level if you are too fluent.
