I can help Chad with this one LOL!

EOW means Every Other Week. But though, even that still confuses me!

And one more thing, I want to take Gerontol-Aging and Society as one of my electives and this is exactly what it lists:

C01 Mo Th 15:30 16:20
Tu 16:30 17:20

now does that mean I go on Monday and Thursday at 3:30-4:20 AND on Tuesday at 4:30-5:20 or just Monday and Thursday OR Tuesday?
There is no pick and choose with university lectures. You go to each of the times mentioned, even if they aren't the same on all of the days mentioned.

It can be done. That's why they give you 10 minutes and not more.

For everyone asking about adding labs and tutorials and how to figure out which one goes with what go here: http://www.macinsiders.com/showthrea...6 3#post25763

hey sinthusized

C = Core (Lectures)
L= Labs
T = Tutorials.
The number beside it represents that there are more than one class for it. This just means that it is a big class and there are more sections to attend.

So for your bio course, for example Bio 1M03 specifically, look at that timetaable and this is what it is telling you..

So that means from each specific category, you pick ONE OF EACH to attend (whichever fits your schedule better).
ONE CORE LECTURE; ONE LAB; ONE TUTORIAL
For example, if I like 8:30 classes, then I would pick C03
C02 Mo We 08:30 09:20 1 CNH/104
Fr 10:30 11:20
KAJIURA, LJ
PAPACONSTANTINOU, M
XU, J
DUSHOFF, J
This means that by picking C02, I will have class Mondays and Wednesday 8:30 to 9:30 in Chester New Hall 104 (CNH) and also Friday 10:30 to 11:20. The names are the professors that will be teaching the course!
Afterwards, you now have to pick one lab and one tutorial to attend. Because it does not indicate EOW (Every other week), then that means you must have one lab and one tutorial each week as well. So from the entire list pick and choose!
Please note that some courses require that if you pick a certain lab number, you will get the same tutorial number. and they occur Every other week, so one week tutorial and next one would be the lab. This would indicate on the timetable.

I have added a LEGEND to step #3. Check it out, as it now explains what each of the C, L, and T's mean.

And yes, 10 minutes is enough time to go to your next class. If your class is all the way across campus you just need to make sure you leave class right at 20 past when the class ends, so you can speed walk to your next class for 30 past. Most profs don't start until 5 minutes into class (they have to setup their laptops, etc)

Yes. If there are multiple sections you are able to pick from (ie. C01, C02, etc) then you are able to pick one... whichever you like best. So if one is at 8:30 on Mondays, and the other is at 3:30 on Wednesdays... and you're not a morning person, you can pick the second one instead of the 8:30 class. As long as you pick one, you're good.

To pick... you will do this in SOLAR. It will list all of the sections and you click a dropdown box and choose which you want to be in. However... as classes start to fill up the sections will get filled. If a section is full, it will say (FULL) beside it and won't let you pick it. So register in SOLAR early!

Great to hear, Eva! I tried to update it to answer all the questions that have been asked in this thread. Hopefully it's getting closer to being as 'complete' a guide as possible

Also be sure to check out Danielle's article as she does a great job explaining the terms and her method for picking courses too

So I took a look at the PSYCH 1X03 timetable, and it's all over the place. Does it mean that the times change every week?

Multiple sections. Multiple, multiple sections.

Sorry Chad, but I still dont really understand how you know which Labs or Tutorials go with which each Core section? Some of them its simple because the Labs are divided in to four groups of times; each group goes with each core I think. But some, (like physics 1D03) dont seem to make any sense at all. For that one in particular, it shows four tutorials at the same time on monday....doesn't make any sense to me :S

JMet.
If the lab sectoins are all listed under the entire list of core courses, that means you can pick any one of them.
Example :
C01 Mo Wed Thurs 10:30 -11:30
C02 Mo Wed Thurs 8:30 - 9:30
L1................... ......
L20.................. .....

Therefore, no matter if i pick C01 or C02, I can pick any lab section I want.

For courses that have multiple core sections, but only allow you to take specific lab assignments under each core, they will section it out properly. Therefore for these one, they will list.
C01 Mo Wed Thurs 10:30 -11:30
L1-L10

C02 Mo Wed Thurs 8:30 - 9:30
L11-20

If it is sections out this way, that means if you pick C01, you can only pick labs 1-10 and if you pick C02, you can only pick labs in L11-20.
