I'm referring to the ones like in
this thread.
How 'bout we try it again? I'm coming out of hiding next Thursday (the 17th), so let's do dinner somewhere. The usual is sushi downtown or Phoenix, but I'm fine with switching it up a bit. What's everyone interested in? We'll set a tentative time for 6:30, but it's flexible. It doesn't even have to be on Thursday if it doesn't work for people.
I've noticed that over the last few days (or weeks/months/years) that the "spirit" of MI seems to have disappeared. Most new threads nowadays are just people asking for specific course-related help, started by people who will show up to get their questions answered, then leave, only to reappear when they have something else to ask.
I'm probably just old and I've been on MI far too long, but we used to have threads that were actually worthy of a discussion, or at least a good laugh. Doesn't happen so much anymore. The logo in the corner says "McMaster Student Community", but it doesn't really feel like one.
So I'm calling you out. Everyone who's starting a thread
just to ask something about Bio 1A03. Everyone posting in threads that are
months old just to get your post count high enough to sell stuff in the Marketplace. Everyone
who's probably gonna disappear after getting your one question answered.
Post if you're interested in coming, or if you have an idea of somewhere to go, or to let us know when you're available. We'll make something work. Regulars, this applies to you too.
Show up, hang out, meet some people, have a good time. You know you're not doing anything important anyway.
p.s. come meet us in
Chat if you haven't already done so.
