It was the same at my highschool. People hung out in groups where their ethnicity was very dominant. Everyone was friendly with eachother, but it's not like they really hung out together. I don't like that. I have friends from all different kinds of backgrounds who I hang out with.
I have a primarily Jamaican background, although my family is pretty mixed up... and sadly, people from the Caribbean really only hang out with eachother - same goes for South and East Asian people. I think I only have one good friend from the Caribbean because of that.
That's why my first year at Mac was kind of difficult because people tend to only hang out with their own. It's not completely visible, but after going here for a while... yeah.

Yeah. Even in my physics lab I was once partnered with these girls and the whole time they just talked to eachother in their own language. D:!

That would be super annoying and rude if you're trying to work on a project together.

Haha, good to know. Throughout my life I've had mostly Caucasian, South/East Asian friends. People who had a background like me didn't hang out with me so much since they think that I'm white-washed, and that's okay, to each his own lol.

That's such a great idea, do they even have something like that at Mac? I wouldn't be too surprised if there was, but I don't hear about it.
EDIT: ;D Are you guys dating??

Not trying to stereotype, but my observations over 20 years of being Chinese, asians don't like hanging out with people of different ethnicities, especially the foreign students.
