McMaster Rescinded Offer???????!!!!
Hi Guys, I accepted the McMaster Business1 program and today I received an email telling me that I did not meet the requirements outlined in the McMaster University Conditional Offer of Admission Letter... The letter reads:
"Our records indicate that you did not satisfy the requirements that were outlined in the Conditional Offer of Admission letter included in your offer package. The conditions were to be cleared by June 30, 2010.
As a result, we have now rescinded your offer to your desired program. You will receive a letter in the mail within a few days confirming this decision. Due to enrolment limitations we are not in a position to extend the deadline for you to meet the conditions of your offer."
The requirements are as follows:
-successful completion of atleast six Grade 12 U/M courses, including the required courses for this program as specified in our Undergraduate Calendar
-successful completion of the O.S.S.D requirements
-a final average of at least 80% in your best six Grade 12 U/M courses, including the required courses for this program. Your final admission average will be calculated to two decimal points and we do not round up averages
Proof of Fulfilling Requirements:
-I have completed six Grade 12 U/M courses as follows: MHF4U1 = 90%, MCV4U1 = 65%, ENG4U1 = 81%, SCH4U1 = 75%, TDJ4M1 = 89%, BAT4M1 = 86%
-I have received my O.S.S.D which clearly means I met all requirements
-My final average with those six Grade 12 U/M courses comes to 81%
So why have I been rejected?

The 6 courses that you are using to calculate your average also includes the courses required for admission into Business I right?

Yeah guys, Business1 requires 2 Maths and 1 English and I have those required courses. I have met every single requirement and I'm confused as to why this happened. I will definitely call them up tomorrow, I just wanted your opinions.

I wish I could provide more insight but I have no idea how they could mess something up like that! Check to see what marks were inputted on OUAC.. it definitely has to be a mistake though if you've met ALL of the requirements of your conditional offer.

My OUAC marks are as follows...
MHF4U1 MHF4U1 2010/02 0 68 SCH4U1 SCH4U1 2010/02 1 75 SPH4U1 SPH4U1 2010/02 1 73 MHF4U MHF4U 2010/04 1 90 BAT4M1 BAT4M1 2010/06 1 86 ENG4U1 ENG4U1 2010/06 1 81 MCV4U1 MCV4U1 2010/06 1 65 TDJ4M1 TDJ4M1 2010/06 1 89
Does it matter if I upgraded my MHF4U1 course? I brought it to a 90%. I had a serious illness during semester one and it carried over to semester 2, that is why my marks are not to my liking.

Yes I did, due to a serious illness as my mark was a 68. My friend also upgraded it and is in the same program, and she has not received a rejection letter.

Okay, I really appreciate your looking into this. I hope this is a mistake as my friend has not received a letter of rescinding her offer. I will definitely have to call them up tommorow.
