Why don't you find a building with tutorial rooms or something and camp out there? Before 12 that is.

I saw signs saying the Learning Commons is to be for quiet study during the exam period. are the students ignoring these signs?

I just realized Rossclots an engineering student. You go to Mills?? You know most of us engineers just stick to Thode. You don't necessarily have to stick to a Mac, as you can borrow laptops.
If you have trouble with computer access, you might want to borrow one from health sci...they let you take them home for as long as two weeks. Granted they are not the best, but I'm pretty sure you can install whatever you need to on em, and then go to the coutless quiet areas available (Mills 3+ floors, Health Sci, Innis)

3) I actually cant study at my apartment. Let's just say there is a reason I pay $240 a month, utilities included, free washer/dryer, internet, 4 minute walk from school, bus stop outside ma house etc. I cant stand up in a good 80% of my apartment. It is the tiniest place every. No studying can happen there. I have really tried hard to, trust me. The fact that I am single has been a bit of a blessing because there is no room for a second person at my place.
I should just trap a badger, get it really pissed off, then let it loose in mills. Or make some chocolat truffles and dope them with LSD or laxatives ... or both. Worked great on my ex that one time out east.

hey do you mind telling me where this awesome deal of an apartment is?
(seriously!)

I enjoy how you rail on people that sit at the 5 minute computers and complain on MI about not having a computer, yet you come on and then complain about people studying. Honestly, just man up, and tell someone to please be quiet, do something other than complaining on MI. It's not hard, I've seen people do it. I go to Mills 2nd because I need the workspace, sometimes you just gotta accept the fact its not going to be quiet, get a pair of headphones sit on a computer, turn on grooveshark and listen to some music to drown the noise out. I agree with you on people who steal computers and dont log in, THAT is stupid, and a hassle for people like you who don't have a laptop.
The idea of turning Mills LC into a quiet study space is a JOKE, even the staff are put off by it. They try their best but until I see someone get escorted out by security, will I know that this is all a big joke. The LC was designed for group work and group study.

He was joking... You obviously missed that.
And Thode is loud. Thode is like an extension of second floor Mills.

Isn't learning commons the only 24-hour library space?

Yes it is.
But now that I think about it, the allnighters that I've pulled studying there...
There's no possible way I would have stayed awake the whole time if it had been a quiet study space. It's bad enough during the day.

And that's why I enjoy HSL. If someone talks above a whisper, at least 10 glares come your way. Any louder (aka from the study rooms), and students approach you to tell you to be quiet.

Check the very bottom of the page.
No clue why people got kicked out. Should have been 24/7 since the 9th.
