Ohh that kinda makes sense I guess, but it's still a bit irrational to be locked up in your room, or out. It's nice just to have it open even once in a while

That's why people hang out in hallways, or common room, or in others' rooms - away from the CA's hawk-eye supervision! ^^

I made friends via facebook groups where people said their rooms. I went and knocked on those people's doors since I already knew them through facebook/msn.

In all honesty you'll meet most of the people in your building either during welcome week, floor meetings or as friends of people you met during welcome week/floor meetings. Unless you purposefully go out of your way to avoid people (I know a few people that did) you'll meet a ton of people in Res. Heck, you'll also probably meet people via MacInsiders, DC++, and Facebook too.
I'd say the hardest place to meet people would be in class since it's not a naturally social environment and you have to go out of your way to say hi to and sit around people you don't know at all.

You can also search out people in your residence in the same program as you.

Yea, that's proabably you're best bet. But tutorials aer min-learning sessions so I don't know how much socializing you'll be able to do there as well

What do you mean when you say McKay has two rooms sharing one washroom? How are they attached? Does that one washroom have only one toilet, bathtub, etc?

Basically the floor is split into wings. Each wing has a certain amount of rooms. The bathroom is not attached to the room. Its a seperate room on its own. But its 1person use, like the ones at home

Ok, thanks. I was a tad bit confused. The McMaster site hardly gives any info and if they do, it's found in the most confusing way. That's pretty neat that the bathrooms are like that. I mean, it's better than having one floor share a bathroom, right?
