How do we know McMaster received our mailed student form (with passport picture)? I sent mine a month ago and should I be expecting a confirmation letter?

Nope.
The only things I have ever had confirmed by them was my offer of admission, my marks each term, and my degree.

Your confirmation is getting your student card sent to you with your pretty picture in it. Other than that, you're on your own.

I'm not sure if you can use photobooth pictures, but I've heard people have tried it before. The photo should be wallet size, big enough so that they can scan your face and place it on your student card (the photo on the student card is about the size of a stamp).
And yes, you can still send in the form and you need to attach/tape the photo to it. Note: THE PHOTO DOES NOT HAVE TO FIT THE BOX, it can be larger than the box on the form.

Yo Zaki, whats up bro.
Yeaa you have to go there to get your picture taken, either in the first week or during one of your orientations (if you dont send it in). If you want to, then go to the office of registrar in Gilmour Hall.

So today's the 9th and I live in Toronto, and I still haven't mailed it in. If I go by express mail do you think it would get there by Friday? Probably not right? Is the 11th an absolute deadline in which if they don't receive by then it's rejected or?

July 11th is not an absolute deadline, but rather a recommended date to return the form. Returning it by this date will ensure that the student card can be produced and mailed to you prior to the start of classes.

If you're in town and whatnot just drop by Gilmour Hall and it literally takes 10 seconds. You give them your new student form, they check to see if you're registered and then they take your picture and you sign on the that little thingy and then you're done. =)

Thanks for the info!
I'm going to TRY and drop by on Friday, but I'd rather mail than risk.

Just be sure to come during the times that they're open. I'm not sure of the times. Don't quote me on this but I think it's 9am-12pm? 1pm-4pm? It found it really quick when I went.. There was a line but it's fairly short and it moved quickly, so if you can drop by I'd recommend it.
