Exactly, it's furniture that you'll use for 4 years only and probably never see them again, so it doesn't make too much sense to waste a fortune on it, exspecially when you only need it for 2/3 of the year.
I love your room setup Danielle! Especially the green drawers like Jeremy mentioned XD

Anyone have parents that are really depressed about them leaving?

Lol @Lorend. Loving the green desk, it matches the walls in my room
Yea, used furniture is a good idea although I hate buying used. I'll force myself to do it if I see anything decent though. Sucks though, being in a small town... There's really not much variety at our Salvation Army.

A lot of parents cry when dropping off their kids, my mom tried to act nonchalant at first and she ended up crying when she was finally leaving after I unpacked.

I dunno about my parents, but my doggy was depressed that I was gone =[ He lost about 30 pounds because he wouldn't eat or anything like that.
I think my mom wanted to cry, but she knew how irritated I'd get. Lol. :O

I think it also depends on if you have any siblings. My brother went to university a couple years before I did. My parents didn't cry or anything.

My parents probably will try to act strong, and just be depressed with the changes for a while, not sure about the crying to be honest , never experienced it haha, so who knows !
Ooooh so are parents allowed to stay with us until we unpack, i.e. if move in is between 12-4, then they can stay till 4 pm, max? is that how it works?

They can stay as long as they want until night time since you can't have guests sleepover during welcome week.
But there will be things to do, people to meet so don't have your parents stay over for that long

Dear residence students, please move in now. Whidden is really scary when there's less than 10 of us.

I never thought about that... the fact that the only students in residence right now are CAs... must be very eerie.

HAHA wow... hide and seek in Whidden with 10 people would be totally awesome xD
I should definetely try that next year (hoping to b in the IRC xD). Can't wait to move in, although I have nothing packed... does a list of stuff to pack count? LOL Welcome Week and moving in are going to be awesome.
My mom just told me today how she's going to cry when I move in... awkward 5 minutes in the kitchen HAHA
