see room before move in day?
Will it be possible to see the room before move in day (Sunday for Whidden) as are coming from out of province and want to shop for a few storage items. Will be in Hamilton the Friday and Saturday prior to move-in day to pick up bedding etc.

If not, any suggestions for double room in Whidden...storage containers etc...travelling by air, very limited luggage, can't bring any of that stuff from home. Also are you allowed a kettle in your room?

Not that I know of, but what you could do is just try and get to move-in fairly early during your timeslot, get all your stuff unloaded into your room, then go run to a Wal-mart or something nearby and pick up anything you think you'll need. Most stores you could possibly need to buy things from right after move-in are within a half an hour drive, tops. This is what I did and I live within half an hour of the school. :p

EDIT: Never mind, I just saw that you're traveling by air. Maybe someone else will find this helpful. ._. You could always bus around and pick up some of the smaller helpful things after move-in if needed, since you'll have your bus pass by then. Probably not during WW, since you'll be too busy doing AWESOME STUFF, but for pretty much all of September there aren't many assignments/midterms, so you should have plenty of time to do shopping if needed.

I'm pretty sure the only time for that was Welcome Day (last Friday). You can call housing and ask, though.

The rule is, you can't bring kettles...it's up to you whether or not to follow that rule. It's not hard to hide the kettle, but if you do get caught you'll be in trouble (and if they see it when moving your stuff up to your room, they might not let you have it).

Well, there's always the online "virtual tours" which give you a 360 view of a sampler room in the rez you choose, which is better than nothing. Otherwise, maybe someone has pics of the room they can post or something... or does Whidden have a Facebook group? Try asking there maybe. ._.

On our McKay Hall group, a couple of upper-years posted up pictures of their rooms from previous years. So check in the Whidden Facebook group and post on the wall and see if anyone has any pictures they can share .

For the kettles, you can't use them in your room but you can use it in the common room so they shouldn't take it away from you at move in.

beat the rush moving in early. Also, check and see if there's free parking on move-in day! Since you're out of province, check out the campus before move-in day so you know approximately where you're going =)
