I am soooo used to having my own washroom and I can't imagine going back to sharing one with 30+ other girls!!! ( I lived in Brandon Hall last year).
There are so many wonderful things with having your own!:
1. no need to lock the door =]
2. can have everything in there...permanently.. .without carrying a little bascket.
3. won't bump into people in the hall way with just a towel around me.
4. public ones can sometimes get really dirty

On the down side..it is more expensive..probably by $500. It's really personally preference. =] if you like it apply for it...and keep in mind it's not garenteed...
.

What would be the best bet for ending up around some upper years instead of ONLY first years?

except holidays and weekends.

You realize you could get dressed in the washroom instead of going back to your room in a towel right? As a rule I would always bring my clothes to the washroom and dress before going back to my room, unless I felt lazy and I'd just bring a robe.

Also the public ones generally aren't dirty, they're cleaned daily.
