		 gotta love the trainers at my local goodlife...  *note that these people are hired as trainers*.  i was just getting my workout started, i see some middle-aged woman come in with one of the trainers, he then says "do the line of machines labeled 1 through 9, 12 reps each, record the weight for each machine"  nice personalized workout plan there.   Now, most of them (i assume) at least know what they're talking about... but i see them teaching behind the head lat pull-downs all the time, which just makes me cringe. 
 
EDIT** to answer your question, if i were to not sign up for a gym for the summer... i would probably find a local jungle-gym and take it over with a few friends...  there are so many things you can do on them!  just gotta either watch youtube videos, or be creative.
