Things I wish I knew before 1st year:

1) Profs don't bite.

2) Shawarma is awesome.

3) Union Market is a cheap alternative for many things.

4) Getting a meal plan even if you're off campus has some advantages.

5) Convocation Hall is a room in University Hall (Ok *I* knew this, but my friend didn't. We had an interesting conversation around exam time)

6) One hour breaks go by quickly.

7) There are plenty of places to nap on campus.

Union Market is near the stairs that lead to the arts quad. It's right near the single elevator in MUSC (Not to be confused by the double elevators next to Compass).

Oh, thats Union Market. I personally found the corner store on Main St to be better (ie carries a larger variety of stuff)

Basilisk (an arabic restaurant) will be your off campus foods best friend for the next four years. Its about a 10 min walk from campus, or they deliver. I'm not gonna get into full details. Check out the reviews on this site. You'll see a section for restaurants.

If a professor does not have a syllabus or has many slots with TBA in them, RUN or get the vaseline ready.

This pretty much makes time management skills (no matter how good you may be) utterly useless.

I could've sworn the restaurants name was Basilique.

What is basilisk?
