Too many day classes?
I'm not exactly sure if I have a problem or not. The majority (27 of my 30 units) of class are in the day time. Will this be a problem (ie. too many classes close to each other) and should I change some classes to night or will I be fine?

Haha, no you're fine. Many of us go through the years only having one or two night classes if any.

PS. Day means 830am to 630 pm..... so lots of time

:s

No you will be fine... night classes are basically there incase you reaaaaaaally want an elective but it conflicts with your day class. Or if you just like staying @ mac till like 10pm for some reason.

Yea, I'd say it's way better that way. Avoid night classes if you can. I found I was super tired by the time I got to my night classes.

Not at all. I go out of my way to avoid night classes (and I've managed not to take any so far) because everyone complains they're too long and time consuming. It's good to have your nights freed up so you can catch up, go the gym, etc..

You'll be fine!
I prefer to have all day classes. That way, I can be done by 3:30pm and not worry about school until the next day. Some people prefer to have their classes spreadout throughout the day, and some prefer having a lot of night classes so they can sleep in every morning.
It's really up to you

As well, if you're a first year, having day classes should help ease the transition from high school to university where many of us were familiar with an 8:30 to 3:00 time slot. It keeps you used to that routine of "getting up to go to school each morning" and "coming back home to do your homework"

Wow before this I thought day classes were 8:30-3:30. Luckily I was just able to change my only night class to a day class after it was full earlier on in the day. Now I have 18 units first term and 12 units third term but I will wait again to see if I can switch 3 units over to third term. But it's strange that their is no lab in the day class while their was in the night class (referring to Labour Sutudies 1Ao6)

That's not a problem at all.
In fact, ALL my classes last year were day ones..
not a single night class.

Majority of people have all day classes, and most of us like to avoid night classes. As you get into upper years, sometimes classes are only offered at night. Especially Psych ones. :/

I would say you are lucky that all your classes are being offered in the day. If possible avoid night classes since you'll have to sit in a night class for 3 hours and usually if that class has a tutorial if will be just before the classes start. All of this adds up to 4 hours from around 6-10. Unless you are a night person its safe to stick with the day classes.

I find that the people in night classes tend to be a more interesting crowd than the daytimers.

A day class is considered 8:30am-6:30pm, while night classes are anytime from 7pm-10pm, sometimes having tutorials that start at 6pm. Day classes have a D next to their term number (ex, term 1D) and night classes have an E next to the term number (such as 1E)

There is no Labour Studies 1A06...there is a Labour Studies 1A03 though, with both day and evening sections. Both the day and evening sections each have a core + tutorial timeslot...no labs at all.

When you say you have 18 first term and 12 3rd term...3rd term consists of full-year courses, which are 6 units. They count as first AND second-term courses, since you take them the entire year. From what you said, it sounds like you have all ten courses first term, and 4 of them are full-year courses which continue into second term. That is VERY unbalanced...10 courses in one term = death.

Oh good call, nerual! Yeah, amare, you need to make sure your terms are properly balanced =/.

Term 1 = September to December
Term 2 = January to April
Term 3 = September to April
