You actually have quite a bit of electives though, you technically have like 30units.
I have like 21 units :\ But I'm looking forward to using those electives wisely ^-^ just not this year

Just 3 units this year and 3 units next year. Course Selection is tonight at midnight for me but reading the posts from fourth and fifth year students, I'm not that excited. =P

Naturally I'm super excited for 12:01 tomorrow so I can experience Solar's epic failure yet again.

Solar = Student Online Academic Registration
or
Solar means it runs on solar power and basically fails at midnight?

Probably the latter.

Ok. Quick question:
So I managed to get on and register in 9 out of my 10 courses, but my elective (science 2B03 - should've seen it coming) was full. For the hell of it, I tried registering in a course that I wanted to take even though it conflicts with my schedule. And solar, being the stud that it is, let me.
Does that mean that I can take the course / there isn't really a conflict? Or does that mean that Mac seriously needs a better course registration system?

If I'm not mistaken, it well let you ride out the conflict. Although when your schedule gets made it will make sure to warn you specifically that you have a conflict. At that point, it's really up to you to fix it ASAP or risk major problems down the road (i.e. 2 exams at the same time -- and they won't let you defer them).

Science students haven't registered yet which means they are saving seats. Try again when the science students register on June 25th.

I don't know, maybe seats will open when I'm supposed to register. For me, 2B03 is on a list of technical electives from which I must select one. The whole list doesn't make any sense with Software Engineering and Game Design (stuff on the list was like Chem 1AA3 and stuff O.o) and this was the only one that seemed like I could maybe benefit from.
Hopefully they'll open a few seats when registration for second year engineering opens. :p
I really don't want to have to be up ready to go at 11:59 PM again when registration for level 2 science opens...

Chem 1AA3, duh! It's for all those Harry Potter like games! Lol
I'm usually up until about this time, so if I don't get the courses I want after my registration I'll probably try every day a new registration happens :\
