Wait, am I a part-time student?
Hello!

I am a Visiting Student at McMaster for 2015-2016 on a Letter of Permission.

As far as I know, I'm a regular student enrolled in full time studies during my time here. However…

I have registered for 3 courses each semester and when I try to add more, it tells me I'm exceeding my credit load limit.

Where exactly in Mosaic can I check whether or not I'm a part-time student? Are students at Mac using an LOP all part-time students?

Thanks!

Why don't you email your academic counselor?

Check under academics > Academic Advising (formerly called degree audit). It should show your credit requirements

Being a part-time student doesn't limit how many classes you can take. Taking fewer 15 credits or fewer means you ARE part time, 18 or more and you ARE full time. I imagine this has to do with your visitor's status at the university. Contact the registrar or the department in charge of your transfer. Failing that, you can always go to the McMaster Association of Part-Time Students (MAPS) at MUSC 234.
