chatr local zone is from Hamilton to Oshawa and you can call all over the province from this local area.
i hate rogers and its babies but still i went for chatr coz of the better hearing range as compaerd to wind .chatr uses the same towers that rogers use .I feel safe because now i can kick their butt anytime i feel and switch to someone more sweeter.

That's the exact same coverage that Wind has (Hamilton to Oshawa). And the prepaid bills is the exact same as Wind as well.
Also, I don't have any reliable sourcing for this, but someone on the Wind Mobile community boards mentioned that after 3 weeks Chatr had only managed to get 87 customers.

87 Customers in 3 weeks sounds unlikely; they're covering an area that encompasses a few million people, they've been advertising quite a bit, they have good reception, good prices, and support for better phones than Wind. I assume the person on the Wind boards is just bitter.

You're probably right. He also didn't give a source, and I couldn't find anything else about it.

If Wind is successful, then I am sure Chatr will stick around.
If Wind fails, then I am sure Chatr will be slowly cut back until Rogers switches your account to Fido.

Doubt it.
Wind has over 120k customers in about 8 months, Chatr is lucky if they even have 10k.

What do you doubt? If Chatr does not control a large section of the marketplace, then Rogers will have to scale back or else they will be simply throwing money away by operating three different businesses with their own sales personnel, customer service staff, and retail space. Although, it wouldn't require additional maintenance costs since they use the same towers. Maybe I should have said "Rogers will probably axe their Chatr brand no matter the outcome of the smaller firms"

Update - Haven't noticed any signal differences between Chatr and my previous Fido while on campus or Hamilton. In other words, it's good.
I must be one of those 87 people

Think of it this way - if the service sucks so bad that it renders the phone useless, WIND would not still have 120k+ customers.. most would have moved to koodo/fido/virgin..

lol, so you have to port your number from one rogers subsidiary to another rogers' subsidiary haha...that's kinda weird IMO.

LOL pretty much, what can I say, I'm in it for the long distance calling. Besides I'm not gonna lie, I'm loving the Wind Prices on the Rogers Network on my iPhone

Your never switched to rogers. Your with Chatr. Althrough Chatr is owned by Rogers, there is no rogers branding on it at all.
Basically how it works is if your in a zone that isnt covered by chatr, you phone will probably say something like "Away" or "Away Zone" or "Roaming" to tell you your not in a home zone, and thus will get charged extra
