I was in Moulton in a triple first year, and my experience was horrible. One of my roommates took my food and alcohol (I was of age, the other 2 weren't), and she'd wear my shoes and stuff when I was away for the weekend. She denied it of course, and my CA's couldn't do anything about it as a result. My other roommate had this horrible cough thing all year and would clear her throat VERY loudly constantly followed by a "mmhhmm" sound. It became quite frustrating. The first roommate also had a habit of leaving the door unlocked all the time, especially at night and no matter how many times I'd tell her, it wouldn't make a difference. I had to sleep with ear plugs and deal with chronic ear infections all year because my one roommate would stay up til 1-2am and the other one got up at 6am every day. It was also VERY hot for the first month, the fan was going on the highest speed for a month and a half straight. I ended up going home/to my boyfriend's university most weekends because there was no point being there more than I had to. I never had any friends over and the one time I did, both my roommates were there that weekend and there was 6 of us crammed in a triple for the weekend. FUN. Anyway, that was my experience with res, but I hope this doesn't happen to everyone. I'm just telling it like it is, in case some people are still contemplating res...

I'm pretty sure straighteners and dryers are okay. Just make sure you turn them off...lol.
But don't quote me on that one!

You're correct. Stuff like that isn't allowed to be used in your room. However, you can bring it with you to the bathroom or use it in your own bathroom in your room if you have one.

Pretty much everything with an open-element is banned from your room. But like Greg said, you can use them in the bathroom. And if you have cooking stuff like a waffle maker, you can use those in the kitchen.

Well just because a rule is in place, doesn't mean that people follow it/is heavily enforced. I know plenty of people who used Hair straighteners and driers in their room.

But if you do get caught, it's a pretty big penalty.

just wondering:
if you have your own washroom, do you have to buy toilet paper yourself or do they supply you with it?

I was wondering who cleans the bathrooms (in all of the various residences, in all of the various forms)?
