ummm...yeah.
so i've been looking around for used chem books.
and i was just wondering, do the ISBN numbers have to match?
the editions are the same and stuff. but i don't want to go buying something that is completely different.
help?

Um, it should be okay if it's the same edition. Sometimes the ISBN number is different just because it's a different printing, sometimes it's just different and there's no real reason (at least not an obvious one).
If you really want to be safe, wait until the first day of class and ask the prof.

Yep, that's the choice you have to make.

That means your prof is lazy and hasn't submitted the texts yet, but worry not the prof can't assign you anything out of the book if it isn't available yet!

No, it most likely means that your prof hasn't gotten around to telling titles what books he/she needs yet.

No you can't only take part of a course and expect a credit. It says English/CSCT because it's a cross listed course. It means it has heavy components of each program.
According to the book list you need a courseware pack and a textbook. They are listed seperately which is weird but seeing as there's only one section for this class and both the listings show the same prof it's safe to assume that you have to buy both the textbook and the courseware.

My Ojibwae had the same split course listing also.
Aaand my books aren't in...so it's not like I could ask what was going on.

Does anyone know if the edition of the physics textbook has also changed this year? I was going to buy it used and it seems like it's the first edition but I heard the second edition got published in Oct 2007. I looked at the physics 1b03 website and they still haven't updated anything for the 08~09 year.
Thanks.

Don't look at the physics dept website, look at the titles booklist, it will tell you what edition you need to buy.

I looked at the list and under edition, it says n/a.
I tried their ISBN # but it doesn't match any of the IBSN #s from amazon or chapters so I don't know how I'm supposed to know which edition it is :S

Ah, I see.
Well you could call Titles and ask them what edition the first year physics books are. The ext is 22422.
