As a non watcher of hockey, I can say that Women's hockey is boring as hell. It's not even a matter of it being slower than men's, it's the fact that even their passing and puck handling is well below par.
And again, this is just from the last 4 games of hockey I've watched. Doesn't take a genius to figure out. D:

You can watch past events on the CTV website:
http://www.ctvolympics.ca/video/CTV/index.html
So, if you have missed anything that you really wanted to see, just click on the event > results and schedule > find the day of the event > click on "recap"!
You can even watch live events. The video streaming quality is quite good as well!

Well, 'par' is different for women and men in this respect - which is why they have separate tournaments...

I can't believe the IOC is all up in arms about this.
I saw pictures and everyone was clearly gone, it was only a few members of the media left who didn't seem bothered by it at all.

We just stole 2 points from Sweden in the 7th end of the curling match. We have the hammer in the last end, so should be another gold in a short while!

I dunno....the hockey team looks like they're trying to out do them in that category. Someone should let Crosby know that forechecking is not a spectator sport.

I agree. The whole thing is so stupid. The fans were already out of the stadium, and most of the press was too.
There was one girl drinking underage, but she's 18 years old and from Quebec, where it is legal to drink at 18. I'm not saying it was okay, but I'm sure she just didn't realize.
The fact that the girls had to apologize for this is so lame. They are allowed to celebrate. What difference does it make if they do this in the locker room or the empty arena?
I think this sort of pathetic reporting is probably from sore-losing Americans. Did you see their faces when accepting their medals?? Jesus. Finland was happier to win bronze than the US was to win silver.
I was just reading an article about IOC President Jacques Rogge, who said that women's hockey should be taken out of the Olympics because the US and Canada are too good and there's no competition. Maybe I'm looking into this too much, but is it possible that he's causing this "Canadian hocey team shouldn't have celebrated on ice" to take the heat off his sexist "Let's get rid of women's hockey" comments..?

Sure am!
And that's great, considering the apparently pathetic ending of curling.

How is it sexist? The article starts out with examples of other countries domination in other sports, but fails to mention that in the other sports mentioned, sometimes other people win. ie, Canada just recently took a few medals in Bobsleigh (Gold AND silver in one event). I dont pay attention to skiing, but Im sure Norway hasn't won every single medal in history. The US has won 2 of the 5 golds in Snowboarding so far. In women's hockey however, no country has ever won but Canada and the US, in the Worlds or Olympics. So it's not the same at all.
I'm all for it. I don't think it should be in the Olympics in the shape it's in. Keep it in the World Championship level for another few years until some other countries develop their programs. THEN bring it back to the Olympics. People pay alot of money to go to the Olympics, and TV around the world pays huge money for the rights to broadcast. But no one wants to go watch someone dominate a game 18-0. Hell, when I played hockey, I didnt even like playing in games where we won like that, and yes, it did happen. 18-0 was our biggest win. It wasn't fun. I can imagine what it was like to watch. I wouldnt want to pay the money as a spectator, or as a network executive for that.
