I read about 3/4 of that and I couldn't take anymore. Maybe because I just ate a big meal (and my only meal of the day) and I feel lazy and I'm thinking about my sheesha tonight

Interesting fact: while many people seem to think that using a hookah is safer than using traditional tobacco smoking methods, recent studies have shown that hookah use is just as detrimental to your health as smoking cigarettes.

Wow really? I mean I know they are both bad, but I really thought cigarettes would be a lot more detrimental than flavoured tobacco. I mean, cigarettes have all that crap in them...

Here's one quick source... I'm too tired to go digging around in databases.

Yeap! That is a fact I was told years ago! We call it sheesha back home and alot of non smokers are increasingly having it assuming it isn't dangerous at all because it tastes like strawberry or Mint! It actually packs the punch of 10-20 cigarettes at the same time apparently
But then there was this thing about Sheesha's not being dangerous because there was this new variety that was water filtered, atleast that's what a friend was arguing with me about :S

Well, the hookah is techincally a water filter, regardless, is it not? Either way, the water will reduce some of the toxic chemicals, but mostly just reduces the temperature of the smoke and makes it easier to smoke even more!

Well, that was just one article I could find to back up my claim (since I knew some people would probably question it). Either way, I really don't feel like digging into some databases right now, but if you want to look for some research articles, go for it!

Not sure how legit this site is but the experiment and calculations were conducted in a scientific manner.

I find a surprisingly large amount of students don't know how to use databases, and they really suffer for it. Perhaps this something I could write an article about.

Yeah but I don't know how to access the actual journals without being on the McMaster network.
Wait, nevermind... I don't know how to use the McMaster library. I've always used google scholar.

Okay... I'll show you how here, and then I'll consider writing a full article for everyone else.
Interesting Fact - You can access research articles and other legitimate academic references/sources via the Mac Library website
Go to the McMaster University Libraries website:
http://library.mcmaster.ca/
Click "Articles/Databases" and from there you can search in a number of different ways.
Try clicking the "All databases" link to browse all the databases McMaster has access to.
Browse around to get a feel for what's available. Most science students know about PubMed, but that's not the best database for most science student's needs. A great database is "Web of Science", and a subsidiary of "web of science" which is really great for bio students is called "biosis previews". Those are mostly what I personally use.
Browse around and get a feel for it. Also, it would be useful to learn how the search functions work on each database you use, because it can really help in finding that one elusive reference you really need (out of hundreds of thousands or millions of possible hits).
When you do click on a database name from home, you'll be prompted for your LibAccess login... that's just your MacID. When you access databases from campus, you're not prompted for your ID.

This is sort of off-topic but besides the interesting facts I LOVED the music in that video.
