My Dad said that like a minute before I saw it posted here, lol.

Most transit has shut down, and the Eaton Centre and Sick Kids are both on lockdown.

EDIT: Mt. Sinai and Princess Margaret's went into lockdown as well.

And people wonder why there was so much security,

Given the history of the groups involved I am not surprised that they have gone violent.

And throwing more cops at it seems to have kept the peace just wonderfully.

The majority of protesters are being peaceful, though.

It's a bunch of ****tards that are ruining the city right now.

Hahah so what are we supposed to do? Let them storm the Convention Centre and kill the heads of state. There are some of them who want to do that.

Similarly there's a lot of them that just want to blow up anything belonging to a corporation, government, individual etc.

You have to know if there were no police there it would be a million times worse.

Horrible stuff. Right when I'm watching the Ghana vs. USA game (yay Ghana) too. Seems to have calmed down a bit compared to what it was an hour ago. Damn anarchist Black Bloc.

I think a lot of the causes the peaceful protests stand for are very necessary to bring attention to (i.e the safe abortion issue in African countries, poverty, protection of homosexuals in some countries, etc).

The violent protests, on the other hand, ... wtf? Being an anarchist is not the way to go if you want to see change in this world.

I was so devastated when I found out they smashed windows of an Urban Outfitters and an American Apparel. :(

I don't think it's fair to group all those people into the single category of protesters. The people that are actually causing property damage should be called anarchists instead.

Man, I don't get why the cops don't just beat the shit out of those black bloc douches. They have batons/clubs, amirite?

I heard an interview with one of them earlier, and the guy was like "No man, you got it all wrong. We're only smashing government and big company property, who can afford the damage. Down with big companies! WOOOO!!"

In other words,

"HURRRRRRRR DURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! !!!"

If it were up to me, I'd just give Darwin's theory a helping hand and line them up in front of a firing squad.
