I'm definitely going to get Win7 when my current version expires.

I don't plan on buying it. You just need to find a friend who has a volume license key.

Does any MBP user find their Macbook makes soft clicking noises or whirring noises during operation? They sound like drizzle on steel. Very very light drizzle.

It could be a defect or it could be the hard drive making the noise. I suggest calling applecare they will help you diagnose your problem. Also wheres the noise coming from if its coming from the bottom right its your hard drive for sure

It's barely audible; and occurs infrequently. I hear it from the top right, around the battery.

My macbook serves a dual purpose as a heating pad.

2. Noise, or lack of noise I should say. This laptop is by far the quietest machine I’ve ever used. For a while I thought I heard the fans running, which was bothering me because the machine was running quite cool, but it turns out that the noise I heard was the hard drive spinning. You can only hear this in extremely quiet environments, but it’s there. I’m not sure if this is a design flaw or not, it doesn’t really bother me anyways.

I already drove 1 hour to the Apple Store to hear, "no spots" and then go back home and find said spots
I'd like to save another trip if possible

Yes, I've actually considered a unique business venture in winter.
See, I'm going to wait for those "brave" Mac students who think they don't need a jacket and stand all bundled up with a hot cup of chocolate and a lineup of Macbook Pros.

I'll flag them down, but instead of offering them chocolate, I'll just hurl a battery their way.

They get to hold it to them for about 5 seconds to avoid a chemical burn, but this brief span of time is also enough for an entire body to warm up.

Then they can trot along on their way, thinking they're strong enough to weather the elements.

When my macbook's hard drive crash there was super loud whirring. =p Then it wouldn't turn on.

I usually just google to see what my macbook issues are, they're usually right.

When I crashed my uncle's....there was a CLUNK. And then, Blue Screen of Death.

It still charged my Nano though, which was nice.
