This is coming from a Habs fan, but neither of those teams have better management or owners than Toronto: Don Waddell is on the hot since since the Trashers have only made the playoffs once in their 9 seasons in the NHL and are at risk of losing their franchise player (Kovalchuk) to free-agency in the off season if they don't show any progress. Management in Tampa Bay has been a circus lately, with the two owners (Koules & Barry) jousting for control over the team. Their was a large power-struggle over the summer off-season on whether or not to fire GM Brian Lawton and what to do with Vincent Lecavalier. And despite having a good group of young talent in Turris, Tikonov, Mueller, Boedker and Ekman-Larson, Phoenix is still one of the least profitable teams in the league and their current owner wants no part of it anymore.
In terms of the Leafs season, yeah they're struggling, but it's only 6 games into the regular season. Remember in 2007 when the Ottawa Senators started the season 12-2 and a lot of people were saying that they were the best team of the new millennium? Look how that turned out.
