The MSU has done polling of incoming first years, and more than likely, expect Canadian artists like Stereos which are all over the MuchMusic Countdown rather than arena-rock acts.
You're telling me that they not only want money, but there has to be enough people watching them?
That's Hardcore.

If you manage to get BSS, then I'd actually encourage people to get a MacPass -- not likely
While it would be fairly easy to book Kevin Drew/Brendan Canning with a couple of the other members, would over 1000 first years come to an Arts&Crafts showcase?
I would love to have the Constantines here but would they be that big of a draw?
Nevertheless, I heard their new stuff from NXNE, and it sounded awesome.

Pft, the cool ones would. Or they could learn to appreciate it ... unlike Hedley and some of the other questionable acts.
There was a huge crowd at their July 1st show. They played too much off of Kensington Heights though. But their encore was fantastic.
I'd prefer cheaper, talented and more accessible bands to super expensive stuff that I probably wouldn't listen to anyways.

3 doors down, Lamb of God, Three days grace, Dream Theater, Deep Purple, Dragon Force,Faber Drive?
But whatever it is I DO hope it is better then those Indie pop annoying sounding thingies like Alexisonfire and Tokyo Police Club. I actually didn't notice the difference between them :S I was rather bemused last year, I was kind of looking forward to my first ever english concert(After well a bomb blast cancelled Bryan Adams back home :() and those guys were highly anticlimatic and for some reason I didn't their appeal?
Though alot of Canadians love Alexisonfire for some reason :S
But I guess the Classic and Alternative Rock acts cost much more then the indie startup ups I guess :S
Lol Can't we just Call linkin park and have the concert in Ron Joyce and invite all the Mac Students? Though I have a feeling it is wayyy over our budget

Waitt, lol ignore the last post. I just kind of figured out how we can find out bands that are touring this part of Canada soon and hence can be available.
For a list of Artists in Canada and browse for east coast
I actually love Monuments and Melodies from the list, but I don't reckon that stuff is everyones cup of tea or whether they will even understand what it's all about or just be left wondering why there aren't any vocals! lol

I didn't think that band Tokio Police Helicopter Hotel Club, or whatever they were called, last year were so great.
The best part was when one of my friends got all excited and whipped a glow-stick directly up in the air, which came down and hit this huge guy standing directly in front of us.
Luckily the guy didn't know where it came from, but if he did, he could have destroyed my friend, lol.

er... tokyo police club, and yes they were pretty ****in good. LOSER.
ha, jokes
anyways.
alexis was so good, hard to beat a good local band
Tokyo Police Club weren't that bad. I've seen them play once before as well in Toronto. I remember during my frosh, the band was Hedley, and they weren't very um.......well lets just say they won't ever be welcomed back to McMaster.
