Quarters Will Be Called...

MacInsiders has received a tip that the Quarters Committee has recommended that the venue to be re-named one of the following:

Sterling Station
The Union or Union Station
1280
The Scholar

Out of the three names I have seen. Students who weren't rooting for keeping the name preferred 1280 so....

Okay I can't decide if that's worse than The Rusty Scholar.

1280 is a much better option.

It was one of the suggested names but I don't believe it was recommended. There will be no decision on the name just yet.

Here are the names that have been suggested by the Quarters Working Group, and from the list the new name will be chosen:

Sterling Station
The Union or Union Station
1280
The Scholar

Don't suggest any other names... It will be from these names. PLEASE CO-OPERATE, WE NEED YOUR OPINION STUDENTS!!!

I would say 1280.

Union Station sounds like we're taking the subway from Toronto, Sterling street sounds like a street and the Scholar sounds like we would be going there to study .

Just out of curiosity....how was 1280 coined? Am i missing something completely obvious?

And I guess Quarters is technically on Sterling Street. I like 1280 a lot though.

@ aani...1280 is part of the school's address, which is 1280 Main Street...just in case you ever need to give someone your school's address

I'm a personal fan of Sterling Station.

I really think a sweet name for a bar is "The Station", and we can make it personal by calling it Sterling Station.

Makes me think of a train station, or bus station where people are always stopping by on the way to and from work to grab a bite, or a drink.... Read more

Plus, the Marketing value of that is awesome. The name is unique, and sounds cool. Bands will want to play there, and nobody would be ashamed of saying "Hey, lets go grab a drink/bite at the Station."

1280 is starting to grow on me. It's simple and doesn't seem tacky like The Scholar. They aren't gonna turn Quarters into a library (at least I hope not)
